I WANT TO "BE"
WOW...my students and I have started our fourth week of school. The 2008-2009 school year is off to a great start. With any new year, a teacher is challenged with new personalities, new opportunties, and new friends to love. I find myself praying over my students and my self as a "teacher" of my Father's children hourly. I dont want to be a teacher that stands up in front of her students, teaching only curriculum...I want to be a teacher that learns with her students and teaches her students the definition of love, compassion, and mercy. I start each morning listening to my Father. I ask for His guidance in my job. I want to "BE" more like my Father. I am so blessed to walk into my classroom every day to smilling faces! I am blessed to comfort a child having a temper tantrum--he/she is calling our for help! I am blessed to put a bandaid on my child's finger, or sing a song ten times in a row. I want to "BE" the HOPE in my students future. It is my prayer you are finding the same revelation this 2008-2009 school year. As teachers, we have a defining job...we have the opportunity to go beyond the textbook, and reach into the deepest canals of our childrens lives! Many blessings!

Gearing up for 2008-2009
WOW..the summer is coming to an end and classroom set up is knocking on my door! I have had a FANTASTIC summer with my family! My husband, puppy, and I just got back from our little get away in Crested Butte, Colorado. Our tradition is to take a get away trip the weekend before I start back to school. Our drive was simply beautiful and the town itself welcomed our spirits from great food to warm hospitality. The Rockies embraced our hearts defining the meaning of strength and faith. The Lord always rejuvinates my calling when I visit His beauty! There will be highs and lows this school year...some days may feel like a shadow has been cast on my view while other days my view may be perfect and bright! While my husband and I took a trip up the lifts, I had a thought cross my mind I want to share with you--especially first year teachers. There will be times you look rubel in the face...but be sure to keep your eyes looking forward because Gods promises and hope are priceless in the distance! Sometimes we dont see the end or we are so overwhelmed with the stresses that come with teaching we fail to see His simple blessings! Go into this year with expectancy! We as teachers have a great, exciting, challenge ahead of us--Here is to a FANTASTIC 2008-2009 school year!

I am PROUD to be a teacher!
Thanks Mrs. Zider for these Educational Quotes! So often we get so caught up in the "expectations" of teaching we forget the "reason" behind why we teach! We have the most AMAZING job! We get to build future leaders, creaters, and teachers! Take a minute to pat yourself on the back and whisper a compliment into your heart! Teachers make a HUGE difference and I am a firm believer that we as teachers need to encourage, support, and compliment each other. We live in a world full of hate, crime, unappreciation, critisizm, the list is endless. Teacher by teacher we can make fingerprints of change in our students and teachers lives. Be proud of your title and wear your armor boldly!

Summer Fun!
Has it really been a month since we dismissed the 2007-2008 school year? Wow...time has flown! I have enjoyed doing lots of house projects around our home-preparing to grow our family and I have had the pleasure of creating/maintaining numerous teacher websites. I cant tell you how rewarding it is to me to place a website that is full of "Your" personality in your hands and let you run with the updating and creating! I love visiting websites I have created and seeing all the new updates. It feels so good to give back!!!!!
My husband and I are helping with Heavenfest a massive Christian Music Festival that will be taking place July 26th. My husband is the stage manager and I will be his right hand. There will be 6 stages, many well known Christian bands--Jeremy Camp, Skillet, and 7th Day Slumber! If you would like to purchase tickets or just want to check out who will be performing..you can go to Heavenfest.com.I am so anxious to watch and invest my spirit at Heavenfest--God is going to MOVE!
We have LOTS of family coming to visit this summer which is really exciting too. Waterworld, Elich Gardens, Pirates Cove, Four wheeling in the mountains....Ahhhhh....so much fun! Thank you to each and every one of you for your support, encouragement, and motivation.
I hope you are finding rest so that you will be refreshed and revived for the 2008-2009 school year. We have the GREATEST job! Have a great day!

Welcome
Welcome to our Kindergarten Class Blog! I am very excited to begin the 2008-2009 school year. I will be teaching at a new Elementary School this year. I get to return home to the staff and students of Flynn Elementary. I will be teaching for my 8th year! My first group of students graduated this year from Cameron, MO. It is amazing how fast time flies when you are having the time of your life. I love children....I love being in the classroom...I love teaching.
